An in-depth portrait of Asa G. Candler’s fight for fortune and the saga of his increasingly prominent family in the South. Author, Ann Uhry Abrams traces his family history and the rise of the Coca-Cola company. You’ll be shocked by what bubbles to the surface- mayorship, sex scandals, love- even murder.

Writing With Intent

Get out your knuckleballs and prepare for another literary bout for the ages. Write Club returns this month- this time at the Highland Ballroom- and is asking for your blessing. Fighting across the table this month will include combatants Nicholas Tecosky (state) vs. Travis Sharp (church); Randy Havens (Trial) vs. Cristen Conger (Error); and Shannon Turner (Native) vs. Ian Campbell (Transplant). Doors open at 8 p.m., cash donation at door.
