While you're busy getting your grills fired up and your bottle rockets smuggled in from Alabama, take a break and head over to MINT Gallery tonight for a pre-4th dose of Americana. America, a group show curated by Ben Goldman, opens from 7-11 p.m. with food on the grill and enough red, white and blue PBR to make you forget everything you hate about this country - it'll be patriotic revelry at its finest!

Goldman, who recently curated The Blotter Show at Kibbee Gallery, has not only packed MINT's walls with a broad range of artistic takes on American life, politics, and history, but has somehow managed to turn this into a crash course on local art. This would turn into the longest blog post ever if we listed every participating artist and talked about the other awesome shit they're doing. If you know nothing about local art, just go to MINT tonight and assuredly, you'll leave with a few new favorites.
