It'll mark the first third* Atlanta performance for Santigold, whose future-pop sophomore album Master of My Make-Believe dropped in April.
“Santigold embodies the essence of ONE Musicfest - music without borders,” says J. Carter, producer of ONE Musicfest. “ONE Musicfest embraces all genres of music and walks of life and Santi’s music speaks to this. We are honored to be the home of her first ever Atlanta performance.”
No word yet on the rest of the festival's 2012 lineup. But if organizers stay true to form, it'll be a genre-bending mix of progressive hip-hop, soul, and electro acts, such as past performers like Common, De La Soul, Chrisette Michele, the Pharcyde, and the Foreign Exhange.
Purchase tickets at onemusicfest.com.
*Ed. note: An earlier version of this post failed to account for Santigold's past Atlanta performances. Thanks, Good Witch, for the correction. One would think I'd remember her ’07 performance since I was at that Bjork show. Duhhh
The video was shot and directed by Video Rahim (Visualuxury and Echo Tree Media), and it has a real An American Werewolf in London Paris kind of vibe, too. Highlander and Gun Party perform afterward, and if you miss it tonight, Crib Notes will host the video's online premiere tomorrow morning, so stay tuned.

Yesterday, Whitney Houston’s last recording was released (“Celebrate” feat. Jordin Sparks). And today, RCA Records released another single from the movie soundtrack. It's Houston's rendition of the classic gospel staple, "His Eye is On the Sparrow," which she also performs in the movie. It's one of those emotional church testimonials that's hard for young singers to deliver without making a vocal mess of things. But Houston keeps it old-school, backed by screeching organs and a full-blown choir at the climax.
